YES! To POSHAN - 

YES! To POSHAN program aims to advance the nutritional status of women and children in the NTR and Anakapalli districts of Andhra Pradesh. This program seeks to achieve this goal by promoting behavioural change in key areas of diet diversity and nutrition education

 Through these efforts, the program hopes to help women and children in these districts to improve their overall health and well-being by increasing the variety of nutrients in their diets and promoting healthy eating habits.

Program objectives:

  • Implement a BCC campaign on diet diversity for PLW and children under the age of 5 in 5 villages of the NTR and Anakapalle districts of Andhra Pradesh.

  • Ensuring Continuous increased diet diversity to greater than 5 food groups in 50% of PLW and children in the project villages

 

Integrated Nutrition Program - Targeting improved nutrition outcomes through better facilities and resources which drive higher attendance at ICD centres.

  •  VCF adopted a three-pronged approach to nutrition security in three districts – Krishna, Guntur, and SPSR Nellore – of Andhra Pradesh, and worked towards achieving a large-scale sustainable impact among the most vulnerable population in these regions, covering over 11991 Anganwadi Centres and over 4 lakh children under 6 years, and 2 lakhs pregnant and lactating mothers for execution.

Rice Fortification Program - Addressing Micro Nutrient deficiency and improving iron stores among children and mothers through the provision of fortified rice in publicly funded feeding programs such as ICDS and Midday Meals.

VCF implemented a rice fortification pilot in three erstwhile districts of AP - Krishna, West Godavari and Vizianagaram. This project was carried out in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh government, with assistance from our technical partner Sight and Life foundation.
